Dr. Dennis K. LAW MD
Director / Producer

Retired from a career as a well-known surgeon in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Law started his interest in the field of entertainment by producing Warriors of Virtue, a high budget family feature film distributed by MGM, Warner Brothers and Columbia Artist worldwide. In China, he also produced a prize-winning CCTV children’s film Xiwa as well as the acclaimed television series April Rhapsody. After the acquisition of The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts by the Law family in early 2002, Dr. Law became the C.E.O. and President of The Centre and its associated production company Sight, Sound & Action. Over the last three years, Dr. Law presented many Broadway shows, as well as the acclaimed Colorado Ballet in Dracula. Most importantly, Dr. Law has utilized The Centre to launch a new genre of Action-Musicals, beginning with Of Heaven & Earth in 2002 and Terracotta Warriors in 2004. In 2005, Dr. Law continues to dedicate efforts to introduce Chinese performing arts of international packaging and quality to North American audiences. The two shows from the summer of 2005, Senses and Heartbeat, combined for one 120 performances throughout Canada. For Heartbeat, Dr. Law received a prestigious Toronto Dora Award nomination for the Best Direction of a Musical. During the summer of 2006, Dr. Law directed and produced the Toronto world-premiere of his latest Action-Musical, Tang Concubines, and received acclaim from both audience and reviewers.

HUANG Qiu Yuan
Composer

 Mr. Huang is a well-known stage-music composer. He has been the recipient of the Grand Opera Prize presented by the Chinese Cultural Ministry for the opera Yu Niang, ballet Sinuate Hill Path and Ancient Beauty. His stage works include the ballet Turandot, choreographed by André Prokovsky and premiered by the Guangzhou Ballet in 2002. Currently, he is writing another new opera entitled Kroraina. As a composer, he has served as a guest at various international contemporary music festivals, as well as a resident composer for opera companies. He has also served as part-time professor of universities and as producer of operas. Mr. Huang has also received a number of composition prizes from the United States and China.

YU Su Li
Choreographer

Yu Su Li graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy with a major in Modern Dance Choreography. She is one of the best amongst a new generation of notable Chinese choreographers, and has won numerous awards including a First Place medal for choreography at the prestigious 6 th Annual “Taoli Cup” National Dance Competition. She has also won a golden award in the Russian Siberian International Choreographic Art Competition. She has the reputation of being one of the most sought after young choreographers in China today. Ms. Yu currently teaches at the People´s Liberation Army Art Academy and will choreograph the entire show Heartbeat slated later this summer at the First Annual International Chinese Performing Arts Festival.

CHEN Er Yong
Choreographer

Even though Mr. Chen is only a graduating senior of the Choreography department at the famous Beijing Dance Academy, he has already distinguished himself as an immerging great talent. He specializes in Chinese folk and modern dance, and despite his youth has already acted as choreographer for two full-scale dance dramas. More importantly, Mr. Chen has already won five Gold Medals in national competitions for choreographers.

LIANG Hui Ling
Martial Arts Team Leader / Actions Choreographer

Liang Huiling started his martial arts training in 1993 with De Sheng, the thirty-first generation Shaolin Temple Grand Master. In 1998, he became a member of a movies special effects troupe belonging to the Beijing Tai He Travel Agency. Later he joined a Beijing culture development company founded by French fashion designer Pierre Cardin and performed in numerous major martial arts drama. In 2005, he joined Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International and is the troupe's martial arts choreographer, as well as a principal performing artist. He won critical acclaim for his action choreography of Tang Concubines in 2006.

MO Xiao Min
Costume Design

Born in Sichuan province in 1964, Mo Xiaomin began studying Sichuan Opera at the age of thirteen. For ten years, he worked as both an actor and set designer before enrolling in the prestigious Shanghai Drama Academy in 1987. After having studied operatic stage design under the tutelage of great masters like WANG Fushi, Mo furthered his education by attending university classes in ancient Chinese culture, specifically: architecture, sculpture, calligraphy and the cultures and religions of China’s ethnic minorities. Joining the Shanghai Opera House, he soon found himself an artist in productions including many different forms of regional opera and four television films. To date, Mr. Mo has designed costumes for over fifty major film, television, and stage productions. Having won many awards including those presented by China’s Ministry of Culture, Mr. Mo is recognized as one of China’s most distinguished costume designers. Included in his credits are period costume designs for fifteen television series, four feature films, six operas, and thirteen dance dramas. He was nominated for the Gold Satellite Award for Best Costume Design for the award winning film The Emperor and the Assassin. Mr. Mo received a Dora Awards nomination for Best Costume Design for the show Heartbeat.

LI Hong Ying
Make Up Design

Ms. Li is a well-known makeup designer at the esteemed China National Drama Company. She graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy with a major in Character Design from the Department of Stage Arts. From 1992-1996, she was the head makeup designer for the Ministry of Culture’s New Year Celebration Extravaganza. Ms. Li has won numerous prizes for makeup design at the international level. Recently, Ms. Li oversaw the makeup design for the show Terracotta Warriors.

WANG Gui Rong
Hair & Wig Design

A notable hair and makeup designer in China, Ms. Wang is a professor of makeup and hair design at the Beijing Film Academy, as well as the chief supervisor for makeup design at China´s Central Theatre Academy. She has designed makeup, wigs, and hairstyles for many theatre productions, movies, and television series. Ms. Wang designed the highly specialized hair and wig for Heartbeat.

LI Zhi Ming
Set Design Execution

 Li Zhi Ming is a professional stage arts and props designer and builder. He has more than 30 years of stage experience, providing support for large and medium scale dance shows. In 2001, he participated in the Hong Kong Chinese New Year Parade as the Parade Carts Designer. Mr. Li was in charge of the stage, sets, and props design for the Action-Musicals Of Heaven & Earth [2002], Terracotta Warriors [2004], Heartbeat [2005], as well as Tang Concubines [2006].

JIN Tao
Lead Percussion / Music Director

Jin Tao started his musical career playing the trumpet at age nine and then went on to study piano at the Shanxi Professional Arts Institute at age fifteen. He later turned to drums and percussion music and was employed as the lead drummer by several professional orchestras. He has won many prizes including First Prize at the QunXin Instrument Contest in 2004. In 2005, he created the drum dance Sheng Shi Zhong Hua for the Japan International Exhibition. Mr. Jin was a principal percussionist for over 60 performances of the drum dance musical Heartbeat, and the acclaimed percussionist for the world-premiere of Tang Concubines. He is now the Music Director for Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International.

GUAN Gina
Female Principal Dancer

Guan Gina began her extensive training at a very young age – she joined the prestigious Air Force Sky-Blue Children Dance Troop when she was only 5 years old and started formal gymnastic training a year later. When she was 8 years old, she joined the CCTV Milky Way Performing Troop. Gina entered the People´s Liberation Army Art Academy when she was 11 and maintained outstanding academic results. She trained with The Royal Ballet from 2002 to 2004, during which she was chosen to be part of the troop’s performance of Swan Lake for her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Gina joined the Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International in 2005 and has appeared as principal dancer in the North-American tour of the Action-Musicals Heartbeat, Of Heaven & Earth, Terracotta Warriors, and Tang Concubines

YUAN Yuan
Female Principal Dancer

Yuan Yuan is a very celebrated young dancer. She entered the Liao Ning Youth Dance Competition when she was 14 and won first prize. That same year, she entered The Central University For Nationalities as their youngest university student in history. In 2003, she was chosen to be Panasonic´s IP spokesperson. Yuan entered the 2005 Miss Universe China Pageant and won both the "Miss Photogenic" and the "Best Media Impression" titles in the finals. She joined Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International in 2005 and is currently a principal dancer. She has been highly acclaimed for her beauty and technical virtuosity in all the principal roles she played in Heartbeat, Of Heaven & Earth, Terracotta Warriors, and Tang Concubines.

ZHAO Shan, Emma
Female Principal Dancer

Zhao Shan is currently a National Class III Dancer in China. She entered the Jinan Arts Academy in 1999, and received numerous "Professional Excellency Awards". In 2002, she participated in the Shandong Province Dance Competition and took home a gold award for her solo dance Jasmine, a gold award for her leading role in her group dance performance, as well as a silver award for her solo dance Snow Joy. Shan joined the dance performance The Shadow of the Fences in 2004 and was honored with a Silver award at the “Taoli Cup" National Dance Competition. Shan has been a principal dancer at the Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International since 2005. Her dramatic acting skills and her stage presence have made her a favourite for all the principal roles she plays in Heartbeat, Of Heaven & Earth, Terracotta Warriors, and Tang Concubines.

LIU Nanxi, Nancy
Female Principal Dance

Nancy Liu is currently a principal actor at Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International. Despite her young age, she was asked to become a principal dancer because of her incredible talent. She has participated in a large variety of dance performances, including The Shadow of the Fences, as well as other nationally known shows. In 2005, Ms. Liu appeared as principal dancer in the song and dance show Senses and the Action-Musical Heartbeat. In 2006, she won wide acclaim for her daring portrayal of the legendary Yang Guifei in the world-premiere of Tang Concubines.

CHEN Jiao
Female Principal Dance

Chen Jiao started her dance education at the Shanxi Professional Arts Institute at the age of eleven. Not only was she the recipient of numerous prizes in dance contests, including a first prize at the Shanxi University Students Dance Competition, she was also a two-time recipient of the "Xing Hua" Award, one of the government's highest awards. Aside from a dance performer, Ms. Chen was also the winner of the "Creative Awards" and the "First Class Performance Award" at the China Military Police Dance Competition, as both the choreographer and the performer of her piece Drummer Girl in the Military

HAN Feng, Jonathan
Male Principal Dance

The government ranks dancers on a scale of one to four with Class I being considered a top skilled dancer in China. It takes years to earn a Class I ranking, and Jonathan, Feng Han, choreographer and lead dancer for SSA, is one of these rare talents. Graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1997, Jonathan is the youngest male National Class I dancer in China today, and has accumulated a remarkable record of dance performances over the years. In 1999, he performed as the principal dancer in the Millennium Dance at the 50th Anniversary National Day Gala winning an award for his excellent performance. He went on to participate in the Kobe Dance Competition in Japan and received a Gold medal for Best Performance in Creative Work. His unparalleled talent is evident as he performed all three lead roles in Terracotta Warriors [2004]. As a consummate technician, Jonathan is a virtuoso on stage and is particularly adept in the art of the Pas De Deux. Mr. Han is often found instructing at the Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International Dance Academy and is the academy choreographer.

SUN Wen Long
Male Principal Dance

Sun Wen Long is a principal actor at Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International. He enrolled in the School of Music and Dance at Shen Yang University in 2001. In 2002, Mr. Sun entered the China Youth Arts Competition and won the Grand Prize, on top of the Gold and Silver medals he received for the Liao Ning Province Division. He was awarded two titles – 2nd Runner Up for Solo Dance, and a Gold award for Group Dance – at the prestigious “Taoli Cup” National Dance Competition the following year. Mr. Sun appeared in the North America Tour of Terracotta Warriors in 2004 and Heartbeat in 2005. As a principal dancer, he excelled in the roles of the Emperor in Terracotta Warriors, as the Cowherd in Of Heaven & Earth, and as various Emperors in Tang Concubines.

CHEN Li
Male Principal Dance

Chen Li is a new Principal Dancer with Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International. A Bachelor’s Degree graduate of the Shan Dong Arts Institute, he has enjoyed principal roles in the dance dramas of “Tibetan Antelope” and “Colorful China” at the famous Poly Theater. He has also won a First Prize at the Shan Dong Province Dance Competition as a newcomer. Mr. Chen has received great acclaim for his role of Cowherd in Of Heaven & Earth as well as the Emperor in Tang Concubines.
